8 - 12 persons, two months, all ages and backgrounds gather together to build a tiny house or a campervan from the ground up. Learn how to create and become a part of a community.
THE PROJECT
In the nature of Furudal, Dalarna, we strip away the noise of everyday life to build an existence based on trust and empowerment. At this event organized by Community Labs, we coexist alongside four different camps, crossing paths during shared gatherings. This gives us the opportunity to learn from other passionate souls in their respective fields, just as we meet to share what we are most passionate about.
Even though the goal is a finished tiny house, the true journey happens between us participants. We follow no set blueprint; instead, by living and working outside society’s conventional boundaries, we allow the project to emerge organically. It is an open exploration where the end result is yet to be discovered.
25th of june - 25th of august, 2026
Furudal in Dalarna, Sweden
Bring a tent and sleeping bag. If you wish, you are welcome to bring your own materials and build your own mini-dwelling.
Please bring your own kitchen utensils, such as a plate, mug, etc.
On-site facilities provide access to clean water, electricity, showers, toilets, a sauna, and cooking areas.
Gatherings with the other camps take place in shared spaces, such as the yurt or a larger barn. There are spacious grassy areas for activities like playing football, making music, or simply forest bathing. Close to where we stay, there is also a beautiful river perfect for a swim.
Building a small community and a physical house in just two months requires more than just a signup — it requires dedication.
To ensure the success of the group and the feasibility of the project, we work with a mutual commitment. In other words, this is a binding registration. We are building a team where every person is an invaluable link.
When you sign and pay the fee of ca 5 000 SEK*, we are counting on your presence, your energy, and your unique knowledge during the agreed period.
Each participant is responsible for their own basic equipment (tent, sleeping bag, and personal necessities). Personal responsibility also naturally applies to maintaining your own boundaries and respecting those of others.
We are collectively responsible for sourcing the tools and materials needed to complete the construction of the tiny house or campervan. This will be coordinated within the group and finalized before the event starts on June 25th.
*The fee covers fixed costs that Community Labs undertakes toward the landowner. This includes, for example, ground rent, electricity, clean water, and facilities.
